Holy Comforter – St. Cyprian LOC Help Feed Homeless (Archdiocese of Washington, D.C.)

The Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Ladies of Charity prepared “to-go” bags for the clients of Central Union Mission.

Members of the Ladies of Charity (LOC) from Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Church (HS-SC) have prepared stewed chicken and volunteered in the kitchen at So Others Might Eat on the 4th Saturday of the month for many years. Due to the pandemic, we have been prevented from providing this service.

Lent is a time for giving and Linda Jenkins, Vice President of the HC-SC LOC suggested we provide “to-go” bag lunches for individuals who seek food at Central Union Mission. Central Union Mission is an organization in Washington, DC which provides food and other services to the homeless and others in need.

Each “to-go” bag contained non-perishable food items along with a prayer card and cross, nourishment for the soul. These along with a cash donation were contributed on Friday, March 19, 2021. The HC-SC LOC was invited to serve as volunteers at Central Union Mission once the Pandemic has ended.

  1. Wow, the ADW is hot in this issue of the LCUSA posting. Thanks ladies for feeding the clients of the Central Union Mission.
I am proud to be a LOC here in the ADW.
