“If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not love, I am a sounding gong or a clashing cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1
I read in God Calling that a smile or a word of love goes on its winged way, while the mighty words of an orator can fall fruitless to the ground.
The Ladies of Charity of Salt Lake City spread smiles and words of love at their Holiday Bazaar fundraiser on November 17th and 18th. They made close to $2,000 selling a delicious breakfast and various beautiful and creative items. All the funds will be going to help put on the Ladies of Charity National Assembly to be held in Salt Lake City in September.
They started preparing the room at 3:30 PM on the afternoon of the 17th. There was unloading, unpacking, sorting, and presentation to be done. Then pricing! It was all ready to go, and after the Saturday evening vigil Mass the hall filled with happy customers looking for bargain priced treasures. The hours passed by quickly and they all prepared for the next day.
Sunday morning, the aroma of pancakes, sausage, and other goodies wafted through the hall and church. Soon the hungry came down from Mass and savored the delicious food. Then they browsed through the tables and picked out their finds.
As everyone ate and shopped, smiles spread and good cheer prevailed. Crowds from two more Masses came down and, hours later, it was over. Another successful Holiday Bazaar for the Ladies of Charity of Salt Lake City.
