World Refugee Day: Action Needed

World Refugee Day, observed on June 20 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world. There is an effort being led by Refugee Council USA and co-sponsored by the National Interfaith Immigration Coalition and Justice for Immigrants to try and generate 100,000 calls to members of Congress (Representatives & Senators) between June 12th and 16th.

The updated phone number to call is:

June 12th – June 16th: Call Your Members of Congress
Here’s what you can say: “In honor of World Refugee Day, I am calling in support of welcoming refugees to the United States. I urge Congress to welcome more refugees to the U.S. next year and provide adequate funding levels to assist refugees worldwide.”

Full details and suggestions for posting on social media, provided by Refugee Council USA, are attached.
