LCUSA President Visits Associations in St. Louis

March 2014

The blustery days of March found President Gayle Johnson visiting the three associations in the St. Louis area. At St. Vincents/Guardian Angel, Gayle and Joan Stanard, board member, visited the food pantry, met with association President Mary Vetter and joined the senior bingo group. Lunch was provided by volunteers and served to the seniors, Gayle and Joan, by student volunteers. Later that afternoon Gayle and Joan were welcomed to the food pantry and thrift shop at Seton Center by President Phyllis Makowski and several volunteers. There was an opportunity to visit with the volunteers and clients shopping at the center’s winter sale. The last stop was to visit with Bonnie Mulligan, president of the St. Catherine Labouré association. She shared the work and projects her association had undertaken for the year. One favorite project was the prayer shawls the ladies made and sent with a prayer to clients, friends and those in need of healing. The dedication and love for the poor was evidenced in the ministry of each association.
