LCUSA Resources

Did you know there is a “For Members” section available on LCUSA’s website? This site provides, for example, access to LCUSA forms, brochures, newsletters, spirituality reflections and prayers and the Association Reference Manual (ARM).

The ARM has been newly updated. One prayer that was added is for the wake service for members that have died. It is as follows:

Recommended Wake Service of Deceased Lady of Charity
(based on the Act of Consecration)

Lord Jesus, we recall your words: “I was sick and you visited me, hungry and you gave me food, thirsty and you gave me drink; I was naked and you clothed me, imprisoned and you visited me.” In response to Your invitation, ________ consecrated herself to You in the service of those who are the victims of poverty in its many forms. In the Spirit of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac, she reached out in loving service to those who suffer many injustices. Grant her now the reward You promised to those who follow you in the way of love for suffering humanity. May _________ be greeted by the many people she helped on earth who have preceded her to heaven and my they together enjoy Your presence for all eternity. Send, Lord Jesus, others to care for Your poor the way __________ did. May her virtuous life inspire many to be Your com-passion in our world and may we who call ourselves Ladies of Charity be ever faithful to the promises we have made to see and serve You in the poor.
