The Ladies of Charity of Bastrop, Texas share what they’ve been up to lately! Here are some highlights from their February 2023 newsletter.

At our November 17, 2022 monthly store meeting, we presented officers from the Bastrop Police Department with a donation for their Blue Santa Program. This program helps needy children have a joyful Christmas.

Additionally, Pastor Roland Nava of the In the Streets Hands Up High Ministries was presented a donation for his “Vato Claus” and Food Box Christening Outreach Program serving Bastrop County families in need. (“Vato” is Mexican slang for “buddy” or “dude”.) Link to a news story about Pastor Roland’s program

148 Christmas gifts from the Ladies of Charity of Bastrop were donated to Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Smithville Nursing Home. This is the largest number of gifts we have donated to date.

Thanks to the volunteers who helped wrap gifts from the store and everyone who brought a gift to the Christmas luncheon. Also, thanks to Judith Arrow for her help delivering the gifts to the nursing centers.
