The Diocese of Buffalo Ladies of Charity celebrated the Anniversary Year with Mass and a Luncheon on December 8th. Mass was held at Queen of Heaven Church in West Seneca, NY. Our celebrant was Father Gregory Faulhaber, the son of longtime LOC member, Mary Faulhaber. Mary, who had been an active member for 72 years was unable to attend as she had suffered a stroke a few months prior. With sadness we regret that Mary recently passed away on January 10th.
Members participated in a Recommitment Ceremony following Mass. Current and past Association Presidents led the members along with Vincentian Spiritual Moderator, Holly Walter and Father Faulhaber.
At the luncheon, Parish Chairladies: Karen Biesinger, Mickey Delaney, Judy Huber, Sally Kingsley, Jewel Lukacz, Jean Raszeja, Sharon Shedler, Carmela Teichmann, Holly Walter, Susan Ward and Alice Werynski were honored. They were presented crystal crosses by Eileen Nowak, Executive Director as a thank-you for the many duties they perform for the various parish associations throughout the Buffalo Diocese.
The Association was also honored to have in attendance three ladies from the Binghamton Ladies of Charity Association: Irene and Molly Siedlarczyk and Margaret Hanson. Irene is the newly elected Vice President of the Northeastern Region. These ladies also visited the Lots of Clothes store run by the Buffalo Ladies of Charity. A tour of the building and the many ministries the members participate were also shared.
