The Ladies of Charity of the Greater Binghamton Area had a Christmas celebration on December 9th at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. Reverend Gerald Buckley celebrated the Mass in the Chapel prior to the dinner. He is our spiritual advisor. Readings were done by Joan Paccone, Sylvia Tupy and Helen Sacco led the prayer of the faithful; gifts were presented by Barb Caveny and Sally Masters and Sally Paniccia acted as an Eucharistic Minister. Appetizers, punch and wine were enjoyed prior to the luscious meal. Sister Diane Louttit offered guidance to the Ladies and led Prayer prior to our meal.
Each Lady was asked to bring gloves or mittens to be donated to the Needy. Some of our Sisters of Charity also enjoyed the party. LCUSA President, Mary Ann Dantuono and Natalie Boone made the journey north to enjoy the celebration. After Mary Ann greeted the group, she asked us to be aware of the good we were doing. Our President, Elaine Columbus, reiterated the importance of the mission we have been called to do where the slightest kindness can have profound effects. Special thanks to the Ladies who worked to transform the Lecture Hall into a Winter Wonderland under the guidance of Marlene Gramata.
