The Bastrop, Texas area has seen a recent increase in poverty (see this story, “Austin’s Neighbors See Poverty Rise” on KXAN-TV for more details on the local situation). Pastor Roland Nava started the Open Door Soup Kitchen there a few months ago. They serve food and have a ministry that helps with other services.
