The Ladies of Charity of Metropolitan Kansas enjoyed a Sunday afternoon Garden Party at the home of one of their members on June 28, 2009. Approximately 100 members and guests, and 42 of their children and grandchildren attended.
The six-year old son of the hostess entertained, playing classical music on the violin.
The children gave a fashion show, strutting down a winding staircase. Clothes were provided by a local children’s clothing boutique.
With wonderful tea cakes, tea sandwiches, a professional clown and beautiful weather, a good time was had by all.
We are always looking for new fundraising ideas. A $20 fee for adults and $10 for children was the cost for musical entertainment, a sampling of the latest in childrens’ fashion, and good food and camaraderie among friends. Very little expense was incurred as everything was donated, including the clown, who was one of our own members!
