Three Ladies of Charity from Buffalo: Dorothy Gietl, Leona Prinzbach, and Joan Quigley, were honored recently by the Erie County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. In recognition of having served at least 4,000 hours of volunteer work in their lifetimes, they received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Recipients set a high standard for service, encourage a sustained commitment to civic participation and inspire others to make service a central part of their lives. The award recognizes the time, talent and dedication an individual has volunteered to serve their country and community. All of the hours recognized were devoted to Ladies of Charity programs.
