Dear friends, AIC volunteers,
When we carry out AIC actions/projects, we’re invited to follow a particular methodology that integrates the teachings we’ve received from St. Vincent and St. Louise, and is adapted to the specific context in which we work.
The training reflection that we propose for the next two months uses this methodology. It emphasises evaluating and measuring the impact of our AIC actions/projects. It’s an opportunity to remind ourselves that our mission is to bring about changes in the lives of our disadvantaged brothers and sisters. We want to support them so that they themselves become the agents of the changes that get them out of poverty.
This reflection also reminds us that when developing actions, it’s essential to join forces with the people we’re supporting and all other stakeholders. It’s a way of putting into practice our AIC priority of “moving forward together”.
“Evaluating and strengthening the impact of AIC projects” is a reflection in two parts. The first part outlines the key stages and points to consider when developing a project. The second part is an example of a project that follows this outline.
We hope this reflection will be useful in your work with our disadvantaged brothers and sisters. It may also be a good opportunity to welcome changes (another of our current AIC Priority Lines of Action) and discover new practices to serve better.
United in prayer, and with our warmest regards,
Tayde and Milagros
