On March 6, the Albany LOC were treated to an “Anchored in Hope” Lenten Day of Reflection at the Louise House on the Daughters of Charity campus. Sister Betsy Van Deusen, CSJ truly captivated our membership with inspiring examples of living in hope as she presented in an engaging, interactive, and joyful manner. We practiced the Five Steps of the Examen by James Martin, SJ as well as Lectio Divina. Our Spiritual Advisor, Rev. Patrick Butler offered a lovely hope-themed Mass followed by a luncheon. Maria Patrick did a terrific job of chairing this event and left each of us with a key ring of laminated prayers or quotes of hope, along with a home made delicious chocolate anchor of hope. The day couldn’t have been more inspiring. We are most grateful to Maria Patrick and Sister Betsy Van Deusen, CSJ.
