Dear AIC volunteer friends around the world,
On 23rd August, we celebrate the 409th anniversary (1617–2026) of the founding of the first group of Ladies of Charity by Saint Vincent de Paul in Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne, France. This is a wonderful opportunity to thank each and every one of you for being an essential link in this long chain of service and love towards people living in poverty, which the Lord has continued to call us to be part of for so many years.
In these times when so many crises – wars, climate challenges, natural disasters – are affecting our world, impacting, as always, our most disadvantaged brothers and sisters in particular, let us unite in prayer and ask our holy founder to continue to inspire us with enthusiasm, creativity and courage, so that we may be a transformative force bringing hope and peace to our societies, making them “a place where the dignity of every person is safeguarded, justice is promoted and fraternity is made possible” (Magnifica Humanita, 1).
