When the assembly is not in session, why not plan to visit some of the attractions in Washington, D.C.? Here are a couple of suggestions:
The National Gallery of Art is located on the Metro Red Line (the nearest station is a 15-minute walk from the hotel, or take the hotel shuttle, based on availability between 7am-3pm). The Metro ride takes approximately 45 minutes. Admission to the National Gallery is always free.
The Smithsonian is the world’s largest museum complex, with eleven museums located along the National Mall in Washington, D.C.; six others and the Smithsonian’s National Zoo are nearby. Visit https://www.si.edu/visit/museums for information.
