Dear AIC presidents and volunteer friends,
In August 2024, we announced the launch of a vast Tree planting campaign throughout the AIC network. This is a concrete and visible action to protect our planet, initiated on the occasion of the “Season of Creation”, a period during which Christians from all over the world unite to care for our “common home”, from 1st September to 4th October each year.
Tree planting offers many environmental benefits, including climate regulation, improved air quality, preservation of biodiversity, soil protection and prevention of erosion. It also has social benefits, as it can improve mental and physical health and help promote community spirit and environmental awareness.
We remind you that each AIC association is invited to take part in the tree planting campaign by planting at least one tree, and if possible more, depending on the association’s resources and available space. We’ve already received photos and videos from several associations’ tree planting projects, in Madagascar, Mexico, the Philippines, Indonesia and Spain.
To mark the first anniversary of the launch of the campaign, we would like to showcase your initiatives and share the results of the past year. Please send your photos, videos and testimonies to the International Secretariat (info@aic-international.org) by 18th August 2025.
You can take photos or film, for example:
- People planting trees, or taking care of them (watering, weeding, etc.)
- The growth of trees: choose one of the seedlings and take photos of it regularly to show its development.
The International Secretariat will share your experiences and testimonies about the campaign in an article on the AIC International website (scheduled for 1st September 2025), as well as in a section of the website dedicated to Sustainable Development.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing more photos and information about the progress of plantings in all the countries where AIC is present.
