MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

The Nashville Ladies are busily working at planning for LCUSA’s upcoming Assembly and the 100th Anniversary celebration of their association. The Assembly, bearing the theme “WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE,” will commence on Thursday, Sept. 16 and conclude with a Mass and banquet on Saturday, Sept. 18. The site for all business sessions and room reservations is the Marriott at Vanderbilt University.

Here’s a sampling of the invited guest speakers:

John Seigenthaler, an American journalist, writer and political figure of Nashville, will be the keynote speaker addressing Social Justice.

Candy S. Hill, VP Social Policy and Government Affairs of Catholic Charities USA.

Reverend Becca Steven of Magdalene Thistle Farms, a Nashville two-year residential community founded in 1997 for women with a history of prostitution and drug addiction, was founded not to just help a sub-culture of women but to change the culture itself.

Father Charles Strobel, Director of Room in the Inn/Campus for Human Development, an interfaith organization rooted in communities of faith, who in assessing the needs of the homeless, have a unique vision that is different from government and for-profit corporations.

Plans call for workshops and meetings to be scheduled throughout the days of the gathering.
